A Message From The Minister
Fort William Kilmallie is a special place because it is full of special people. Among our congregation, you'll find people with royal connections; people whose worth is as great as the world's most successful entrepreneurs; and people who have the most amazing future ahead of them.
Does it surprise you that we have all that in a local church community in and around Fort William? Looking round a Sunday morning congregation or watching the people coming in and out of the hall through the week would you spot these extraordinary characteristics? As a visitor would they be obvious at first glance?
Nevertheless it's true. We recognise Jesus as king. He invites us to be adopted as part of his family, so when we take up that offer we become part of God's royal family.
Every man, woman, young person and child in our church is so valuable that their worth cannot be measured in money or assets. We each matter so much that God took the trouble to plan for us to be here from before time began. He values us so much that He offered up the most precious thing of all, His son Jesus who gave himself for us on the cross, to bring us into His family. God thinks you're worth more than all the wealth in the world.
Jesus made a promise that he came to give us life - life in all its fullness. He's offering us the best life available here and now, and a lasting future in God's presence, so we know we are people with an amazing future ahead.
The people in our congregation may look ordinary and unremarkable, but yet we have our royal connections, immense worth and amazing futures in store. And among us, there is room for you and a welcome for you. It's not just the people already here who are special in these remarkable ways - the same gifts are available for those who haven't found their way to us yet.
Whoever you are, whatever your background, whatever your past experiences, God cares about you. He loves you, and He wants you to know it. We'll do our best to reflect that by making you welcome at our worship and in our activities, to offer what we can by way of prayer and support and friendship.
You're welcome regardless of age, gender, race or class. You're welcome whether you wholeheartedly share our love of Jesus or just want to explore a few questions. You're welcome because we know that you too can be a royal, a person of worth beyond counting, someone with a wonderful future ahead. And after all, who wouldn't want to meet someone like that?
We look forward to welcoming you.
